RESTAURANTS

"Thai? Yeah, Thai food!"

Places to dine are, indeed, numerous. And one more article on the quality and atmosphere of any such eatery could easily be overlooked by the common, ordinary gentleman or lady who is just seeking to settle after a long day at the occupation.

This experience is true even for one who would dare to write such an article. Yet, when a restaurant appears on the horizon of boredom and long days—a restaurant that proves the somewhat challenged notion that eating is meant to be enjoyed—a place to rest and belong and be filled—and a place where one walks away from his plate with so much more than the ordinary sense of satisfaction—a writer can not and must not allow to pass by the opportunity to proclaim to his community, “You’ve got to try this!”

I have asked on more than one occasion, “Have you tried Thai food?” The looks usually precede the response of negativity. For Thailand is such a long distance from Houston. How could any Texan take joy in consuming something so foreign? Rubbish. I must—with great anticipation and untainted enthusiasm—give my remarks for a restaurant in Kingwood that brings the above mentioned, and might I add, quite eloquent style of wording, description of goodness requiring loyalty.

With many oriental foods the consumer is left feeling, excuse my inappropriateness, a little bloated. However, not with the Red Curry Thai and Sushi on Kingwood Drive. I have delighted myself with several of their dishes—from the Pad Thai to the Basil Seafood, or my favorite…Pad Ki Mao. It seems that these good folks from Thailand serve their dishes with great respect. Not once have I had to endure a cold plate of food, or anything unexpected nor unenjoyed. I give my good friends at Red Curry great praise for their fine work, cleanliness, warmth, and kindness.

And if one finds that this article is somewhat overdone, he may be right. My response would be, “What must be said, must be said. Some things just have to be.” And then, I would invite such a gentleman to join me over a delicious dish at Red Curry Thai and Sushi in Kingwood, Texas
